The Haut à Courroies (or “HAC”) was the very first travel bag designed by Hermès in the late 19th century to carry riding boots and other bulky items. It was this model that inspired the creation of the Birkin in the 1980s. The version presented here, dated 1982 (letter “L” in a circle), perfectly illustrates the transition between equestrian tradition and modern luxury. Care instructions:
Epsom leather can be cared for with a soft, dry cloth. In the event of stains, light cleaning with a damp cloth is possible, avoiding abrasive products. We recommend keeping the bag in its original cover, away from humidity and direct light, and filling it lightly to maintain its shape.
