Created by Karl Lagerfeld in the 1980s from the 2.55 bag designed by Gabrielle Chanel in 1955, the “Classic Flap” or “Timeless Classic” is a modernized reinterpretation with the famous CC clasp. Very popular in the 1990s, this model embodies the minimalist refinement of the decade while paying homage to the House’s heritage. This version, made between 1994 and 1996, reflects an era when Chanel still used 24K gold gilding, now discontinued, reinforcing its rarity and value.
Exterior Details:
The black lambskin leather has a smooth, slightly satiny texture, characteristic of vintage Chanel pieces. The uniform diamond quilting underlines the rigor of the craftsmanship. The CC clasp in 24K gold-plated metal takes pride of place on the top flap. The braided chain of leather and gold links is adjustable for shoulder wear or as a short shoulder strap. On the back, an exterior half-moon pocket completes the design. Approximate dimensions are 25.5 cm wide, 15.5 cm high and 6.5 cm deep.

The interior features burgundy leather lining, a color typical of vintage Chanel models. The main compartment, protected by a double flap, features several pockets: a zipped pocket on the inner flap, a patch pocket and two small compartments.
